Scottish Terrier owner Ony Antonucci wrote to the Scottie News about a terrifying recent experience.

She and her husband Joe enjoy boating on the Great Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondacks and are often accompanied on their excursions by their two dogs, a young Cane Corso mastiff named Serena and a 7-year-old black Scottish terrier named Diva. Last month, they were headed toward Sport Island Pub, when something went amiss.

“We got to Sport Island, and my friend asked, ‘Where’s Diva?’ Ony said, ‘Oh my God, she fell off.’”

The full story, complete with happy ending, was reported by the local newspaper.

Lifejackets are now compulsory on the boat.

OMG! I can’t even imagine such a thing happening. Angus and Ozzie not only wear life jackets all the time, we also keep their leashes on. Thank goodness this story has a happy ending!

when you hear about so many Scotties drowning, this story is just amazing!! I am also a big believer in Scotties having nine lives, this one certainly does!

I am so glad to hear that your Scottie is okay! Reading this story brought tears to my eyes. Let it be a lesson to everyone that owns Scotties to remind us all to buy them lifejackets!
