in Scottish Terrier names, Scottish Terrier videos

Recently, a reader sent a link to video of her two new rescue Scottish Terriers, Stella and Byron, at the cottage. It intrigued me for a number of reasons.

  1. Cottages really aren’t what they used to be.
  2. Stella and Byron are very literary names. Are we dealing with an academic?
  3. Have you ever had to yell, “Steeelllaaa!” like Marlon Brando?
  4. They’re really cute dogs and that’s quite an indoor workout

So, here are Stella and Byron:

And here’s young Marlon Brandon as Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire:

Kind of makes me want to have two dogs called Stanley and Stella. Speaking of which, a reader just added a whole slew of names to our Scottie Names List, which is one of the Scottish Terrier and Dog News‘ most popular pages ever.

I haven't yelled Stellllllaaaa, but I will say that Rory & Fiona decided to join them in the barking. Does that count?

If Angus would have been a girl, her name would have been Harriet, so I would have had "Ozzie and Harriet." So, I told my husband, our next two will be "Fibber and Magee."

We've definitely had occasion to yell "Stelllaaaa!" since we got her… perhaps naming her that was a mistake, but it fits her well. Our last Scottie was a girl named Pippen, but we were looking for something more feminine this time… Poor Pip was always mistaken for a boy. Perhaps it was the beard.

We are just about to get our latest Westie puppy – my third – and in celebration I would like to get a putter cover for my golf club. I previously had a Whyte and Mackay cover with the black and white terriers on it but lost it. Does anyone know where I can get hold of one, please?
