Shirley is nicer to her doll than her Scottie … that is all kinds of messed up.
I'm sure there's some psychological message here how she is imposing parental behavior on the Scottie (authoritarian) and then the doll (loving) but I agree, her priorities are all mixed up!! But I have a vague idea the Scottie ended up saving the day somehow in this one..?!
