Scottish Terrier, Bonnie, has become Marie Richard’s guardian angel. When the dog runs up and gives a low-pitched whimper, Marie knows a seizure is on its way.

Very short, very cute and very good Spanish practice.

Dog lover suggests some male dog names: “If you have a Scottish Terrier, then ‘Tavis’ or “Finley,’ both good Scottish names, may be appropriate…

A little irony might also be fun. What about “Botox” for a Shar-pei?” That could be either a girl dog name or a boy one.

It’s a story that reminds Scottie News of The Incredible Journey.

Netflix ought to have it and if they don’t, we’ll start a campaign.

For the record, I remember the movie as being a bit of a tearjerker though nothing like Bambi’s mother dying.

The Scottish Terrier and Dog News does not believe in nepotism or mindless celebrity. You don’t have to belong to a foreign president or a congressman embroiled in a D.C. dog scandal to make headlines here.

For us, it’s a Scottie scoop complete with photos when regular Wheaten Scot, Baby, of Central Kitsap, WA does well on an agility course.

Why, we’ll even cover Scottie hybrids if they’re as fashionable as Robbie in his funky eyewear, although it probably helps that he’s from the O.C.

Scottish Terrier and Dog News has succeeded in locating a White House photograph of Polish President Lech Kaczynski’s terrier, Titus. Reporting on President Bush’s activities in Europe, the BBC had this to say:

Clearly he’s seen enough of world leaders after the G8 summit. He was at his most animated greeting the Polish president’s dog – a scottie similar to his own – Barney.

“Great dogs – aren’t they,” he said looking at the Polish president’s wife.

Thankfully she took it in the spirit with which it was meant.

Looks like Titus — or Tytus as they say in Polish — may not be so good at taking presidential walking orders:

Because the daily dog video was pre-empted by events beyond our control for two days last week, here is a special weekend double bill.

First off we have a kind of Stoner-in-the-basement-with-a-Scottish-Terrier clip. The episode is narrated in aspiring-film-student style and there’s a gruesome surprise ending.

Update: The best Bush and Barney picture ever is here.

For all you non-Politicos out there, Scottish Terrier News didn’t intend for this to turn into Presidential Pet Week. It just sort of happened that way.

First, Russian Preident Vladimir Putin dissed Barney and small dogs, claiming his lab was a real president’s dog. And now ABC News reveals that labs are also the most popular dog with American politicians. Does that mean there won’t be another Cold War?

Turns out Polish President Lech Kaczynski has a Scottish Terrier called Titus (Tytus), who, according to the Associated Press, could be a “twin” of Barney. Would the Russian president insult him too?
