The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan, is everywhere these days so for our first ever non-Scottie video and in honour of the weekend and the fact that tonight is Dog Whisperer night, the Scottish Terrier and Dog News presents The Dawg Whisperer

It’s worthy of Saturday Night Live.

Today, the Scottish Terrier and Dog News unveils a new Friday feature on famous Scottish Terriers or, depending on how you see it, famous owners of Scottish Terriers. A grand prize, to be determined, goes to the first person to identify this famous Scottie owner in the comments.

Dog bites dog in New Jersey.

In other dog mauling news, the following headline caught our attention:

It struck the Scottie News team as a little “homophobic” for our politically correct times, but since the story appeared at Gay.com, I guess that means the gratuitous lesbian reference is okay. The accuracy, however, is questionable given that the victim was not just mauled but killed by the dogs. We first heard about this case in Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan’s bestselling book.

Enough — for now — with the Scottish Terrier scandal that’s rocking Capitol Hill (scroll down for details.)

Take a break from politics and check out Sadie, the Scottie dog who prefers beer to lattes. Cheers.

No one will accuse these two dogs of being “latte-lapping lapdogs” like Congressman Whitfield’s terriers.

Irish labradors, Lucky and Flo, have been so successful at sniffing out black-market DVDs and CDs that they have attracted death threats from Malaysian criminals.

Update: The BBC reports that a bounty has been put on the sniffer dogs’ heads.

Bosley, the Scottish Terrier dog at the centre of a scandal, was caught on camera last Friday in the basement of Congress’ Rayburn Building. He and his Jack Russell companion, Nigel, were being walked by their congressman owner, Ed Whitfield, who told reporters his wife was away. Presumably, she normally walks the dogs — outside.

Following this report in The Hill yesterday (scroll down to the second article), Kentucky Congressman Ed Whitfield (R-Ky) is in hot water with bloggers who think he’s wasting taxpayer money by having aides walk his Scottish Terrier, Bosley, and his Jack Russell dog, Nigel.

In the comments over at Bluegrass report, even Bosley the Scottie gets in trouble.

“Bosley? Nigel? My….what a bunch of latte-lapping lapdogs. I’d bet they’d like to take a trip to Bloomingdales to eat truffles!

Congressman, this is Kentucky, and unless you have a blue-tick at home named Cooter or something like that, you should be impeached…lol.”

Update: A few of our loyal Scottish Terrier News readers have requested we post a link to the Bluetick Coonhound. Happy to oblige.

May 31 Update: The Scottish Terrier and Dog News team prepare to bring you the fallout from the Congressional Scottie scandal. Apologies to readers who were sad to see the Daily Scottie Video pre-empted by TerrierGate.

Today’s designer dog is the Doxie Scot. From this photo, it really looks like the terrier genes drown out the Dachshund DNA.

Our previously featured designer dogs were a Scottie Westie cross and a Scottish Terrier Chihuahua cross.

…of defacing the neighbours’ property or, worst case scenario, killing the neighbours’ cats, have him DNA tested. Alas, in this case, the dog was almost certainly guilty.

At around 1 minute 20 seconds, Maggie the Scottish Terrier appears to get herself in a spot of trouble with Ringo the Great Dane.
