Last Friday’s post on headbutting taught me a new expression, the Glasgow kiss.

I’m sure there’s an equally apt description somewhere for sheep kissing.

Dour Scotsman would know it if anyone does, but he seems to have disappeared as of late.

Reuters reports:

The domestic doyenne wrote on her blog Wednesday that she returned home Tuesday night and was planning to head into New York that evening since she had an early call for “Today” and “The Martha Show.”

“As I leaned down to whisper goodbye to a dozing Francesca, I must have startled her, because she bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent’s face,” Stewart wrote. “I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip. Frannie was as upset as I was and cowered in her bed.”

After realizing she had a “pretty serious gash,” Stewart said she called her daughter and asked her to make sure a plastic surgeon would be waiting for her at the emergency room.

I’ve never experienced the full Martha, but here at the world headquarters of the Scottish Terrier and Dog News, we do joke about Bridget’s “concrete head,” which does leave bruises on my shins fairly regularly.

No matter how elusive your goal seems, don’t give up on your New Year’s resolution yet — even if your diet makes you feel like this.

By the way, those are the same three handsome Scotties shown here.

Here in Toronto, we finally got the snow that everyone else has been getting, making everyone at the dog park very excited.

Bridget became obsessed with a beautiful just-under-one-year-old male Keeshond and followed him everywhere, harassing the poor guy until I had to call her off. Funnily enough, we used to have a Keeshond when I was a kid and she was a lovely tempered dog. Also, Bridget was not the only one OCDing over Diego. A few other dogs were also chasing him and biting at his coat. His owners said this was par for the course.

All this grr, grr stuff is pretty regular for Bridget. How about your dogs?
